Advancing Medicine Through Education, Research, and Practice

The Faculty of Medicine at Lokman Hekim University offers a comprehensive, practice-oriented, and internationally aligned medical education designed to train competent physicians equipped for modern healthcare systems. Medical education is delivered over six years in three integrated phases, combining strong basic science foundations with extensive clinical exposure and internship training. Throughout this process, students receive hands-on education in university hospitals under the supervision and responsibility of experienced academic staff.

As a health sciences–focused university, Lokman Hekim University has structured its entire academic and technical infrastructure specifically for medical education. From the early years, students integrate theoretical learning with practical applications, enabling early adaptation to the hospital environment. The curriculum emphasizes not only medical knowledge but also analytical thinking, ethical responsibility, patient communication, and clinical decision-making skills.

One of the strongest components of the program is the Vital Simulation Center, Ankara’s largest medical simulation facility. Here, students practice clinical procedures and emergency scenarios in a safe, controlled environment before encountering real patients. This simulation-supported training enhances clinical confidence, patient safety awareness, teamwork, and stress management, preparing students effectively for clinical practice and internship years.

The Faculty of Medicine is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS), enabling graduates of both Turkish and English programs to pursue postgraduate training and professional opportunities internationally, including eligibility for examinations in the United States. In addition, students are encouraged to engage in scientific research, TÜBİTAK-supported projects, and innovation activities from the undergraduate level.

With Erasmus+ mobility programs, international academic collaborations, strong hospital integration, and student-centered academic counseling, Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Medicine provides not only a medical degree but also a solid foundation for a sustainable, ethical, and globally oriented medical career.
